Philippians is this first book of the Bible we are preaching through at Proclamation. As we work our way through this short book there are two things you can do that I believe will be of great long-lasting benefit to you: 1) Read the book for yourself, and 2) Memorize the book.
Philippians only has four chapters. I encourage you to read the entire book of Philippians each week as we work our way through this series. If you can, set aside fifteen minutes or so each week and read the entire book in one sitting.
Philippians only has 104 verses. If you memorize one verse per day you will have the entire book memorized right around the time we are finished with this series. If you have not yet developed the discipline of memorizing God’s Word, this would be a great time to start. If you think memorizing the entire book is too much at this time for you or your children, pick out key passages from each chapter to memorize as we go along (such as Philippians 1:3-6, 9-11; 2:5-11; 3:7-14; 4:4-9).

How to Memorize and Review Verses (This is the method that I have used to great benefit over the last several years, although I have transitioned from using actual note cards to using the Fighter Verses App. I have also used Evernote for this purpose).
