“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

—Matthew 5:14–16 (ESV)

Bible Orphan Minsitry

Bible Orphan Ministry (BOM) ministers to ten orphanages in Ukraine. In these places are orphans with various physical and intellectual disabilities, including Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, mental illness, and other special needs. BOM team members conduct regular Bible lessons for children, showing them love and giving them a chance to hear the gospel. Their goal is to show these children God’s love for them and to disciple them in Christ. The team also wants to care for them in a Christlike way, assisting them with their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.

In these places, the children have no hope. They feel lonely and neglected. For a variety of reasons, their parents have abandoned them—some have been in the system since birth and have never known the love of a family. BOM continues ministering to children who “graduate” (age out) of the orphanage system in several ways; one way is by providing transitional housing.

Jeb and Gail Bland

Mission to North America Native American and First Nations Ministries

Serving with Mission to North America (MNA), Jeb is a church planter working with church planters, planting churches among Native American and First Nations people living in urban centers, in rural areas, and on reservations. It is Jeb and Gail’s desire to see churches planted in communities where Native Americans live and work being pastored by a Native American. Four Directions Ministry Council is a missional partner with MNA. As a separate nonprofit, with the majority of the Board members being Native, Four Directions’ desire is to equip Indigenous people to do Indigenous work that is culturally authentic and distinctively Christian.

They actively seek to focus on the enduring commandment to love the Lord with all our strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves and apply that particularly to our “first neighbors.” This involves spending time in relationship with our Native American leaders, as well as representing the work among Native Americans to PCA churches and presbyteries across America. They call upon churches in our denomination to take an active role with Native Americans in developing “relationships of mutuality,” particularly those churches located in areas where there are Native communities. Jeb and Gail are very aware of the need for healing, restoration (there is so much restoration needed), and reconciliation between Native and nonnative Americans and actively advocate for that. Pray with them for this to happen locally and nationally.

Chen Family

China

David has been in China since 2003; his primary focus is on theological education, church discipleship, and partnering with local churches in Great Commission ministries. In 2009 David started a Reformed seminary in China. He has also helped establish four other seminaries throughout China. David’s discipleship ministry focuses on training Chinese church officers and ministry leaders, and he helps them train and send missionaries to unreached people in China and in nearby countries. He also runs a theological conference once a year in Hong Kong for hundreds of church leaders from China.

Aliece started the Tree of Life Counseling and Research Center in China, which includes the School of Biblical Counseling (a master’s program). It also helps local churches to set up biblical counseling ministries and to train and supervise their biblical counselors, and it provides counseling services to churches and to the community.

David and Aliece have four children serving with them in China: Zebadiah, Zemirah, Ziera, and Zetabel.

Molly De Bruin

Lebanon Valley PCA Church Plant

Lebanon, Pennsylvania

Lebanon Valley PCA officially began on September 1, 2020. From September through October, the church held Zoom meetings and had a Sunday morning sermon online. Worship services began on November 1, 2020, with morning worship services held at the New Covenant Christian School.

Though Lebanon Valley PCA began in 2020, the seed of this new church started in April 2014. Pastor Cisco Victa had never attended a PCA church, but in an introductory lunch meeting with Rev. David Cross he shared that he felt led by the Lord to pursue ordination in the PCA and eventually plant a new PCA church in Lebanon County. After completing an internship with Hershey Presbyterian Church and Trinity Presbyterian Church in 2017, Cisco served as a chaplain resident at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. After being ordained as a teaching elder in the PCA on August 19, 2018, Cisco served as an assistant pastor at the Trinity and Hershey churches. In April 2019, Cisco and his wife Kati completed the Mission to North America Assessment in Atlanta, Georgia, for the purpose of exploring church planting in Lebanon.

In February 2020, Cisco received a call from the Susquehanna Valley Presbytery of the PCA to begin the Lebanon church plant in September 2020. This church plant would be a “scratch work,” meaning it would not be a “daughter church” of any existing PCA church, but—as an initiated work of the presbytery—the church would begin “from scratch.” In the midst of a worldwide pandemic and many unknowns, God has shown his faithfulness to gather people together in this community! Recently, the Lebanon church plant welcomed its first 14 members.

Cisco envisions a church that reaches Lebanon city and the towns across Lebanon County with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Since its inception, the church plant has been blessed to develop ongoing relationships with students at Lebanon Valley College in Annville. The church anticipates building on these relationships with the students and continuing to minister among this population. Their prayer is to see the church plant reflect the diversity of their communities and raise up disciples from people of all ages and ethnicities.

Reformed University Fellowship at Millersville University

Chris grew up in Northern Virginia, just outside Washington, DC, in a wonderful family and church where he heard and believed the gospel from an early age. While in college at Virginia Tech, he got connected to the ministry of RUF (Reformed University Fellowship), where he found amazing community and grew greatly in his faith in Christ. After graduating in 2015, he served for two years as an intern with RUF at NC State. He then went on to get his masters of divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary, Charlotte, from 2017–21, working with RUF at Winthrop University during his time there. While in seminary, he met Kelsey (originally from Hickory, North Carolina, and a graduate of Western Carolina University) at an RUF training, and after she finished her RUF internship at the University of Vermont, they got married in 2019. And they welcomed their daughter, Elliana, into the world in January 2022! Ron Zeigler

Pennsylvania State Capitol

While at Towson University in 1981, Ron came to a saving faith in Jesus Christ while completing a general studies degree and secondary science teaching certification. He spent six years teaching in the Baltimore County public schools. Then, heeding a call to pastoral ministry, Ron graduated in 1995 with a masters of divinity degree from Chesapeake Theological Seminary while concurrently completing a three-year internship at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Manassas, Virginia.

From 1995 to 2014, Ron served two congregations in Central Pennsylvania, one as an associate pastor and the other as a solo pastor. During these years he focused much time and effort on equipping the saints for works of ministry. Ron took a sabbatical from pastoral ministry from 2014 to 2021 to focus full-time on finishing the homeschooling of his three youngest children. In addition to homeschooling his own children, he enjoyed teaching church history and algebra in the kids’ homeschool co-op and in a local Christian high school.

Ron and his precious wife Kathy have been married since 1989 and are parents of four adult children, one in college and three pursuing their careers. In addition to loving to talk about New Life in Jesus Christ and reading books on history, theology, and philosophy, Ron enjoys watching baseball games and freestyle wrestling, collecting vintage Matchbox cars, and writing calligraphy, as well as participating in outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and fishing.

Ron currently serves as the State Capitol minister to Pennsylvania through Ministry to State with Mission to North America, the domestic missions organization of the Presbyterian Church in America.
